Complex Coordination
Shipping goods for special offers just in time
As an experienced logistics provider, we use advanced technologies and a globally standardized transport management system (TMS) to ensure that we can deliver goods for special offers just in time from countries such as China, Bangladesh, or Vietnam. Our close collaboration with our suppliers and customers enables us to accurately predict demand at the point of sale and ensure that the right quantity of goods is in the right place at the right time. In order to reduce the environmental impact and maximize the use of resources and carrier capacity, and to obtain the best price for the shipment, we consolidate at multiple distribution centers in Asia, en route, or at the destination, if desired.
Our globally standardized TMS system further helps us quickly find solutions for our customers and ensures that they receive the usual reliable updates on pick-ups, freight documents, deadlines, and other agreed upon milestones, even in turbulent times. We aren’t satisfied until the goods for the special offers have arrived on time and in their entirety at the major retail chains’ freight centers.
Logwin manages the shipment of goods for special offers from Asia for a large retail chain in Australia. This involves more than 20,000 containers a year that are shipped from numerous production sites in Asia to Australia, where they are distributed throughout the country. This a complex task for which Logwin reliably and continuously works towards optimizing the supply chain for its customer. Special offers have to be in the stores on time. There is no wiggle room. The road there is long and full of interfaces. Perfectly planning and executing each stage of this journey and every transfer point is the job of the Logwin supply chain specialists in Asia and Australia, supported by the headquarters in Germany.
The collected goods are consolidated at central seaports by Logwin offices and shipped by sea to Australia. The portfolio of Logwin services is rounded off by customs clearance, intermediate storage, and further transport on land. Close Communication with the Customer All of this is challenging enough, even when everything goes according to plan. Which is seldom the case – suppliers run into bottlenecks, shipping companies change their rotations, storms increase transit times, COVID-19 makes customs clearance more complicated. To come to grips with all of these eventualities, Logwin maintains close and direct communication within its organization as well as with the customer.
The key to the successful execution lies in the targeted and flexible adaptation of logistical expertise to the processes and needs of the customer and their numerous suppliers. This is a highly complex feat of coordination. The timely transfer of goods to Logwin by more than a hundred suppliers strewn throughout China and other parts of Asia is precisely prepared and monitored.
