III. General Information About Data Processing

1. Extent of Processing Personal Data

In principle, we collect and use our users’ personal data insofar as it is necessary for the settlement of our contracts. After fulfillment of the contractual obligations, we process data only after having received consent to do so. There is an exception in cases in which prior consent is not possible due to practical reasons or when such data processing is permitted by law.

2. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

Insofar as we obtain consent for processing personal data from the person concerned, GDPR Article 6, Paragraph 1(a) serves as the legal basis for this.

If the person concerned is a contractual party, GDPR Article 6, Paragraph 1(b) serves as the legal basis for the processing of personal data required to fulfil this contract. This further applies to processing operations that are necessary to accomplish pre-contract arrangements.

Insofar as it is necessary to process personal data in order to fulfill a legal obligation our company is subject to, GDPR Article 6, Paragraph 1(c) serves as the legal basis for this.

If processing is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of our company or those of a third party, and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the person concerned do not outweigh the first interest, GDPR Article 6, Paragraph 1(f) serves as legal basis for processing.

3. Data Deletion and Storage Duration

The personal data of the person concerned will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage is no longer applicable. Furthermore, such storage may be provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the person responsible is subject. The blocking or deletion of the data also takes place when a storage period expires as prescribed by the aforementioned standards unless there is a need for further storage of the data for concluding a contract or fulfillment of a contract.

IV. Specific Data-Processing Processes

1. Collection and Processing of Data Accessed from the Internet

When you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily store each visit in a protocol file. The following data is recorded and stored until they are automatically deleted:

  • IP address of the accessing computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of accessed file
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Report of successful recall
  • Software (browser/operating system) used to access the page
  • URL from which the access takes place
  • Name of your internet access provider

Principally, we do not use these data to personally identify you as user. The data are processed to enable use of our website (establish connection), security of our system, technical administration of the network infrastructure as well as the optimization of our internet offer. The IP address will only be analyzed in case of attacks on the network infrastructure of Logwin.
Logwin only processes and uses your personal data to execute your orders and respond to your enquiries. To this end we also cooperate with service companies who process the order data (as processor) or that have signed a non-disclosure agreement. Moreover we only pass on personal data upon your prior consent or based on judicial authorization or obligation, in particular in case of attacks on our network infrastructure or for asserting legal rights and prosecution. Apart from this, your data will not be passed to any third parties.

2. Newsletter, Press Mailing List, Tracking and Tracing, Contact Requests, Orders - Approval for Further Use

The use of certain offers on our websites, e.g. newsletter or distribution list, requires prior registration and subsequent processing of personal data, i.e. long-term storage of email addresses, user IDs and passwords. We only use these data after you transmitted them and gave your prior consent to us to make use of it. The legal basis for this is GDPR Article 6, Paragraph 1(a).

If you want to register for one of Logwin’s services you need to submit at least your email address. Any further information is submitted voluntarily, and these data are used to contact you personally and in case of queries regarding your email address.  We require your postal address for postal shipments. If you register with our press mailing list we need to know the name of the medium you work for to make sure that we in fact deliver to a press organ.

We normally use the double opt-in procedure when you register with our services.  This means that after registration you receive an email with a link for you to confirm and only then we will send you information, e.g. a newsletter. In this way, we ensure that only you as a user of the email address provided are able to register for a service. The link needs to be confirmed promptly after receipt of our email; otherwise your registration and email address will be deleted from our database. Our newsletter service will not accept any further registrations from this email address until we receive your confirmation.

You may unsubscribe from any service at any time. You may either send us an email or use the link at the end of the newsletter without incurring costs beyond the basic transmission rate.
We forward your enquiry to the relevant Logwin department depending on the nature of your request and/or where you are located.

If you request information material, we will use the submitted address details only for handling your request.

On our account Google uses this information to analyse your use of the web pages, to compile reports about the activities on the web pages and to render additional services for us, the operator of the website, regarding usage of web pages and internet.
