Internet Data Protection Notice
as of June 2008
Logwin takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We process personal data collected during a visit to our web pages taking into account the valid data protection laws. We neither publish nor pass on your data to third parties (=outside of the company group) without your permission.
In the following we explain which data we record during your visit to our web pages and precisely how this is used:
1. Data collection and processing with access from the Internet
When you visit our web pages, our web servers temporarily save each access in a log file. The following data is thereby recorded and saved until it is automatically deleted:
- IP address of the enquiring computer
- Date and time of day of the access
- Name and URL of the called up file
- Transmitted data quantity
- Message indicating whether the call-up was successful
- Recognition data of the browser and operating system used
- Web page from which the access took place
- Name of your Internet provider
We do not principally personally identify you as a user with these entries. The processing of this data takes place with the aims of making usage of the web page possible (establishing the connection), system security, the technical administration of the network infrastructure and the optimisation of the Internet offering. Logwin only evaluates the IP address in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure.
2. Usage and passing on of personal data
Any usage of your personal data takes place only for the named purposes and to the extent necessary to achieve these purposes, or when national legal regulations make this absolutely necessary, or insofar as this is necessary for purposes of asserting legal rights or criminal prosecution resulting from attacks on our network infrastructure. Data is principally not passed on to third parties for other purposes.
3. Newsletters and distribution lists, orders – Consent for subsequent usage
The usage of certain offerings in our web page, such as newsletters or distribution lists, requires prior registration and the subsequent processing of personal data, for example, the long term saving of e-mail addresses, user recognition features and passwords. Data of this kind is only used after you have transmitted this to us and have provided advance consent for its usage.
In order to register for one of these Logwin services, we require at least your e-mail address. Other information is provided voluntarily and is used to be able to address you personally and to be able to clarify enquiries concerning your e-mail address. We require your address data for postal shipments. In the case of press releases, entries indicating the press organ with which you are employed are necessary so that we know that a press organ is actually being provided with this information.
We generally use the double opt-in procedure for registration for our services. This means that we first send you information, e.g. a newsletter, when you confirm your registration after providing your e-mail address through an e-mail sent by us containing a link. This should ensure that only you as the user of the given e-mail address may log in for the service. Your confirmation must follow soon after the receipt of our e-mail, as your registration and e-mail will otherwise be deleted in our database. Prior to your confirmation, our newsletter service will accept no further registrations from this e-mail address.
You may terminate a service you have subscribed for with us at any time. To do this you can either send us an e-mail or cancel using a link at the end of the newsletter.
When you order information materials, we use the provided address data only for processing the order. The information is not passed on to third parties.
4. Cookies
We presently use so-called session cookies in our web pages, used merely to store the data in the memory of your browser for purposes of the technical control of your session. This data is deleted when you close your browser.
5. Right to information and contact data
You have a right to information with respect to the personal data stored with reference to you as well as a right to correct, block and delete incorrect data. To receive this information please contact:
