Warehousing via mail: Logwin supporting the start-up company Eigenraum

Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – The internationally operating logistics company Logwin has been supporting the start-up company Eigenraum’s innovative concept since September. Based in Berlin, Eigenraum is offering new services across all of Germany, whereby customers can conveniently send items packed in cartons via mail and store them in the Logwin logistics centre in Karlsfeld near Munich.
Stays abroad, moving and renovation: there are many situations in which people require additional storage space. Logwin offers this space. At the Karlsfeld site the logistics provider has a total area of 48,500 square metres at its disposal. To start, Logwin has reserved approximately 5,000 pallet spaces for Eigenraum in its high-bay warehouse. “We have a modern, secure, and heated high-bay warehouse,” says Marc Styrnal, Key Account Manager in the Logwin business segment Solutions. “Customers can rest assured that their personal items are safe and in good hands.”
IT system management
The complete service is managed through the website www.lagernperpost.de, where customers can register and enter their order. As soon as the order is placed, Logwin is informed of exactly how many parcels will be arriving in the warehouse and when via electronic data transmission. “Data exchange goes on constantly,” says Marc Styrnal. “Eigenraum always has an overview as to which parcels enter or leave the warehouse.”
A decisive factor in this partnership is flexibility: it is almost impossible to predict how much warehousing space will be required at what time during the initial phase, nor can it be predicted how long the parcels will remain in the warehouse. What is clear, however, is if demand exceeds the capacity in Karlsfeld, Logwin can quickly involve additional locations in Germany to keep things running smoothly.
Trust is crucial
Professionalism and reliability were important from the start for the co-founders of Eigenraum. “Logwin took the time necessary to talk to us and provide one-on-one consultation – trust was there immediately,” says Damian Leich, Managing Director of Eigenraum. As a start-up company with an innovative concept, it was a challenge for him and his business partner Sinan Gökduman to find suitable partners to work together with. “Eigenraum’s idea won us over immediately,” explains Marc Styrnal. “I could have used this service myself any number of times in the past.”
About Eigenraum
The company EIGENRAUM, based in Berlin, was founded by Damian Leich and Sinan Gökduman in 2011. The website www.lagernperpost.de offers a simple, convenient way to store things. What is unique is that the company organises all the transportation services and not just the warehousing. Customers hand over the parcels at their front door and they are delivered right back there. The items are stored at a central warehouse as long as needed. The service is primarily aimed at private persons, however can also offer an alternative to own storage space for freelancers and companies. All parcels are insured to a value of €500.
