Logwin takes double silver in 24plus quality ranking
Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – Double second place: the two Logwin locations in Nuremberg and Burgstädt gained the same number of points in the 2008 internal quality tests performed by the 24plus forwarding and logistics cooperation network. This means that these locations are among the best of the total of 61 companies making up 24plus. The cooperation appraises its network of partners every year with an assessment based on a comprehensive catalog of fixed quality criteria, e.g. with regard to the timeliness, integrity and completeness of the shipments as well as in respect of compliance with operating instructions. Burgstädt had already won silver in the previous year, while Nuremberg moved up two places. "We are delighted at this success and will make every effort to continue to improve the quality of our sites", comments Achim Gallmann of Process Development at Logwin.
Transport and storage – quality from a single source
The Logwin location in Nuremberg was established in 1926 and besides classic forwarding services mainly in the area of general cargo provides comprehensive warehousing solutions, including for goods sensitive to temperature. The air-conditioned high-rack storage facility provides space for 6,000 pallets. There is a total of 3,500 m² of handling space and 4,500 m² of storage space available. The location has been part of the 24plus cooperation network since 2001. The 105 employees perform warehousing and transport throughout Europe for customers from such industries as automotive, healthcare, white goods, plastics and chemicals.
In Burgstädt there are 56 Logwin experts responsible for handling cargo, for warehousing logistics as well as for national and international transport. Customers come from all industrial sectors. The location, established in 1990, has more than 2,000 m² of handling space and 3,900 m² of storage. The Burgstädt site was one of the founding companies in the 24plus cooperation network.
Cooperation with seal of quality
In 1996, 32 forwarding companies came together to form the 24plus forwarding and logistics cooperation network. Its headquarters are in Hauneck-Unterhaun/Hesse. The logistics network assesses its partner companies in regular internal and external audits. Extensive training programs ensure the constant high level of qualification of its members. The 24plus logistics network quality management is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. In the last financial year, the 4,650 employees and 344 trainees of the 61 member companies generated revenues of 454.7 million euros. 24plus transported 7.7 shipments with its fleet of around 3,000 vehicles in 2008.
