Logwin receives AEO certification
Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – The logistics service provider Logwin has been awarded the AEO certificate for its subsidiary Logwin Air + Ocean Deutschland GmbH. The company is accordingly registered as an "Authorized Economic Operator“ with the customs authorities. The certificate applies to all the company's German locations with effect from 20 July this year.
"After the company changed its name to Logwin last year we had to recommence all the processes required for obtaining the customs-related benefits", explains Erich von Grambusch, Manager Customs Affairs Region Europe Middle East at the Logwin business segment Air + Ocean. "Now that we have successfully gained certification as an AEO, we meet the current highest requirements of the World Customs Organization. “ The precise status is AEO-F (full). It combines the simplifications in customs law of the AEO-C (customer) status with the security-related conditions of the AEO-S (security) status.
The certification of companies as Authorized Economic Operators is a major component of the EU's initiative on customs security. The aim is to protect all supply chains from threats as terror attacks. Recognized AEOs such as Logwin Air + Ocean Deutschland GmbH have, among other things, the possibility of obtaining approval for customs processes throughout the EU without having to undergo renewed certification. Certification as an AEO places high demands on reliability, financial liquidity and compliance with specific customs regulations.
