Logwin places greater emphasis on the Pan-Asia region
Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – The logistics service provider Logwin is increasing its activities in the Pan-Asia region with the aim of systematically expanding its own sea and air freight activities in the Asian trading area.
The Pan-Asia region includes countries bordering on or near the Indian and Pacific Oceans, which, taken together, form an enormous domestic market: trade between the countries of Asia today accounts for more than half of the total trading volume in this region1. "In the light of this, we have decided to increase our commitment to the economic region of Pan-Asia even more," explains Helmut Kaspers, COO of the business segment Air + Ocean of Logwin AG.
Logwin has analyzed international trade flows in the Pan-Asia region and defined important primary and secondary routes. Existing transport volumes and frequencies to these destinations will be increased and additional routes opened up. Logwin will be formulating its aims for the most important trading routes and specifying its strategy for action at annual conferences in the region. A regional meeting held in Singapore in September 2009 marked the start of this.
The Pan-Asia region
The Pan-Asia region includes Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Logwin has a presence in these 20 countries – in some cases already for several decades – mostly with its own locations, but also through well-known partner companies.
