Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – Network expansion in Australia: The logistics service provider Logwin opened a location in Perth in November this year. This is already the fourth Logwin location on the Australian continent after Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
"Our new premises are located directly next to Perth international airport", says Thomas Kilian, Country Director Logwin Australia. "This means we are well placed for our domestic and international customers." Manager at the new location is Stephen Aylmore, who was born and raised in Western Australia and who has extensive logistics experience.
The location counts
Logwin decided to open its own facility in Perth, the state capital of Western Australia, since it serves as an important gateway to the region thanks to its location on the west coast. At the same time, the proximity of the growth markets in Asia represents a significant competitive advantage for the location. Perth also shares the same time zone as Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Thomas Kilian explains, "Customers in Western Australia benefit both from our growing Asian and international network of offices as well as from our many years of industry-related experience on the Australian continent."
"Down Under" for over 30 years
Logwin has been present in Australia with its own national organization since 1978 and today operates a total of four locations there. Its range of services includes international air and sea freight transportation as well as warehousing, value-added services, customs clearance and distribution. The logistics service provider works in Australia on behalf of customer from such industries as automotive and fashion. A further area of focus will be the fields of renewable energy and mining. The latter is Western Australia's main industry. The country's most important exports are coal, iron ore and gold as well as crude oil, oil products and natural gas.
