Logwin: Jan Warnecke is Country Director for air and sea freight in Switzerland

Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – The international logistics service provider Logwin is gaining momentum in Switzerland. As the new Country Director, Jan Warnecke has assumed responsibilities for air and sea freight activities there. The 34-year-old forwarding specialist and transport administration graduate has put together his team and is aligning the portfolio of services with market requirements.
With Logwin since 1999, Jan Warnecke moved from Dubai to Switzerland to take up the new position. He was Route Development Manager in the United Arab Emirates for four years, and before that the logistics expert had worked at Logwin locations in Hamburg and Sydney.
In Switzerland Jan Warnecke travels back and forth between the two Logwin locations in Basel and Zurich. A total of 20 employees implement international transport and logistics solutions from a single source. “With Jan Warnecke we succeeded in gaining a competent specialist for the further development of our sea and air freight business in Switzerland,” says Helmut Kaspers, COO of the business segment Air + Ocean at Logwin. “His international experience at various Logwin locations is of particular use here.”
Competence as a specialist for Asia
One area of special focus for Jan Warnecke is air and sea freight transportation between Switzerland and Asia. China is Switzerland’s most important trading partner in Asia and the two countries are currently negotiating a free trade agreement. “We also see promising market potential in trade with the Far East in the future,” says Jan Warnecke. “That is why we are continuing to further develop our competence as Asia specialists.” The company is already well positioned in this segment. “We connect Switzerland and Asia with regular air and sea freight shipments, including a direct consolidated container service from and to Basel,” explains Jan Warnecke. From Basel the logistics service provider manages the delivery of the imported consignments throughout Switzerland within 24 hours.
The logistics service provider has been operating on the Swiss market since 1977. Its range of services includes worldwide air and sea freight transport, customs clearance with its own officially certified customs declarants, warehousing and value-added services. Customers include companies from the automotive, aerospace and chemical industries as well as from the IT sector and machine engineering.
