Logwin establishes national company in Serbia

Logwin strengthened its presence in Eastern Europe.
Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – On course for expansion in South Eastern Europe – the global logistics service provider Logwin founded its own national company in Serbia back in spring. The first location of Logwin Solutions SRB d.o.o. is conveniently situated for transport near Belgrade Airport and the A1 highway.
The Country Manager of the new national company is Bogdan Šoškić. The 33-year old has accumulated wide-ranging and long-time experience in the Serbian logistics market. “We mainly provide transportation for contract processing,” says Bogdan Šoškić. “In doing so, we work closely together with our locations in Aschaffenburg and Štip in Macedonia.” Besides transport, Logwin’s range of services in Serbia includes customs services, warehousing and customer-specific value-added services. The logistics service provider undertakes air and sea freight projects primarily via the Croatian ports of Rijeka and Ploče and Belgrade Airport.
Signs pointing to growth
Serbia’s economy is also experiencing gradual recovery after the crisis. At the same time there are prospects of EU membership. “Serbia is increasingly becoming a retail market and sales to consumers are gaining momentum,” explains Bogdan Šoškić. “A clear focus for us therefore is on developing appropriate distribution structures and delivery services.” In Serbia Logwin has the fashion and lifestyle sector in particular clearly in its sights and uses its network for example to organize the transport of hanging garments. Other important industries where the logistics specialist operates are automotive and electronics.
Expanding the network step by step
Logwin looks back on many years of experience in the Eastern European market. The logistics service provider already operates its own locations in Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia and is currently represented at 23 sites in Eastern Europe. Logwin covers a large number of other countries through its strong network of partners. The number of countries where the company is represented by its own national entity is planned to grow further. “All in all the prospects for the future are promising, not just on the Serbian market,” says Andreas Kerschner, Director Operations Transport and Retail Network at the Logwin business segment Solutions. “We will continue to grow together with our customers and partners and have a presence where our customers need us.”
