Logwin assumes responsibility for S&T Austria’s warehousing

Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – Laptops, servers, printers – IT service provider S&T Austria has entrusted the international logistics service provider Logwin with warehousing for its new equipment and spare parts business. The logistics specialist has set up a separate 650 m² area monitored by CCTV cameras within its Vienna warehouse for S&T’s high-value goods. The IT company has closed down its own warehouse, with some of the employees being taken on by Logwin as part of the outsourcing project.
New computers, monitors and keyboards arrive at and leave the warehouse on a daily basis. Logwin accepts incoming goods, checks their number and packaging and sorts them into storage racks. An average of around 7,000 to 8,000 articles is held in stock. Picking is also part of the warehouse management task, with Logwin putting together exactly those products that each S&T customer requires.
High security for valuable products
“We see this collaboration as evidence of trust,” says Alexander Kratky, Manager Sales and Key Account Management at the Logwin business segment Solutions, “since some of the products involved are very valuable.” This explains the sophisticated security measures which require that only Logwin employees who work for the customer directly have access to the restricted area.
In addition to the warehouse, the Logwin site in Vienna also houses an alarm-protected technical equipment room rented out to S&T. The IT service provider’s staff have access to this room around the clock seven days a week, and it is where they can for example set up server cabinets and configure equipment for their customers over an area of 160 m². “The security systems provided by Logwin meet our expectations exactly,” explains Eduard Bugelnig, CEO of S&T Austria. “That’s why we deliberately chose to entrust Logwin with the storage of our products.”
