Logwin and Alpla prolong logistics agreement

Grevenmacher (Luxembourg) – The logistics service provider Logwin will be performing all logistics activities for the Fussach, Vorarlberg site of the global packaging group Alpla for a further three years. Alpla and Logwin have been collaborating since 1999 and their cooperation has now been prolonged until 2011. Alpla's core business is the design, development and manufacture of plastic bottles, caps and packaging systems. The company, founded in 1955, has 10,000 employees at 122 locations in 37 countries.
 
The services that Logwin provides to Alpla range from stock removal from the high-rack storage system (16,500 pallet bays) and the organization and execution of related transport services to the management of empty packaging and its return to the production plant. The volume of logistics at the Fussach production site amounts to 10,000 transfer orders with a total of 65,000 tonnes per year.

Logwin has six sites in Vorarlberg with a total of 350 employees. For example, the logistics service provider runs a logistics competence center in Feldkirch-Tosters on a site covering more than 50,000 m², with a team of specialists coordinating transportation by road as well as by rail, and in particular by multimodal means. The Logwin site in Ludesch operates primarily for customers from the fast moving consumer goods segment. Besides storage, transshipment and distribution Logwin also provides a large number of value added services such as the production of sales displays.
