JCL Logistics acquires Logwin Road + Rail activities

Grevenmacher (Luxemburg) – The international logistics company Logwin divests its Road + Rail activities in Vorarlberg (Austria), Switzerland and Hungary to JCL Logistics, with its headquarters located in Werndorf, Austria. The corresponding contract was signed today. The transaction is subject to cartel clearance by the competent authorities.

The sale is taking place as part of the agreed streamlining of Road + Rail activities within the Logwin Group. The present transaction includes the branches of Logwin Road + Rail Austria GmbH in Wolfurt, Feldkirch-Tosters and Krems, of Logwin Road + Rail Switzerland with its headquarters in Thayngen and Logwin Road + Rail Hungary, based in Budapest, and includes as well all aligning branches and logistics locations. The sold activities’ core business is European groupage transport, LTL (less-than-truckload) and FTL (full-truckload) transportation as well as warehousing and value added services.

In 2000, Logwin AG had acquired these companies as formerly known delacher group. Presently, about 550 employees generate sales of about 170 million euro.

In addition, a Swiss JCL Logistics subsidiary acquired Logwin Road + Rail activities in France, with its headquarters in Scionzier, as well as subsidiaries in Italy and Spain. The shares were transferred in the line of the signage of the contract on 26 February 2010.

“The companies, which are very successful from an economic as well as operational point of view, complement each other, both, from the geographical reach as well as from the service range. By this new constellation, JCL Logistics is able to offer its customers full service logistics, independent from any restrictions, neither national borders, nor industries, nor business fields”, comments Stephan Joebstl, CEO of JCL Logistics.

Consequently, the acquired activities and companies will be fully integrated into JCL Logistics and will act as JCL Logistics on the market.
