Examples of environmentally friendly process optimization within the Logwin Group

Fashions reusable containers: resource conservation by reducing the amount of packaging

Logwin's textil logistics are based on the concept of hanging-garment transport and shipment in environmentally friendly reusable containers. This results in a large number of benefits with regard to sustainability, since without superfluous paperboard containers packaging costs are lower and packaging waste is reduced to a minimum. The use of reusable containers for store delivery is enjoying increasing popularity.

logoClean: CO2 reduction through improved scheduling

Our environmentally conscious behavior is underlined by our logoClean cleaning facilities in Austria. When they were set up, great importance was attached to their compliance with the highest environmental standards – for exhaust air, professional wastewater treatment, waste treatment and wastewater quality. The logoClean facilities have been certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 18001:1999 and ISO 14001:2004 and aligned to the SQAS (Safety Quality Assessment Systems) standard. All transport containers and transport vehicles are thoroughly cleaned inside and out in the facilities – irrespective of whether these are tank trailers or tarpaulin trucks. This allows fast reloading, which saves on empty mileage and reduces CO2 emissions.

Hazardous materials warehouse in Enns: safety through the highest ADR standards

As a provider of logistical services for chemicals and dangerous materials, Logwin is subject to particular legal requirements. Special attention has been devoted to these activities with the modern, ISO-certified warehouse for hazardous materials at the Enns site. Divided into the five hazardous goods areas, the ADR warehouse, covering 3,200 square meters, provides space for 700 tonnes of dangerous goods, with the exception of explosive and radioactive materials. There is an additional 600 square meters of open storage where up to 160,000 litres of flammable liquids and acidic or caustic products (such as cleaning agents) can be safely stored. The professional and safe storage of the materials are guaranteed by experienced staff, rigorous access restrictions and the explosion-resistant construction of the store where only materials were used which allow no chance of sparks. Fire-resistant F90 walls, fire doors and a fully automatically controlled sprinkler system prevent the emergency situations.
